I was quite pleasantly suprised by the magazine, n+1 (also known as the anti-McSweeney), which was launched but a few years ago. I read my first copy, Issue #7 and it contained 3 superb articles.
First, a timely interview with 2 hedge fund managers and a Marx-influenced economist. Second, a penetrative review of the chronicles of the pick-up-artist Neil Struass, and ultimately what it all means (picking-up that is). Third, a mesmerizing translation of a short Austrian play from the 80’s, Thomas Bernhard’s “Claus Peynmann buys himself a pair of pants and joins me for lunch” – an absurbist/political play that ends flirting with Godwins rule.
This is a superb strike-rate for a 200-page magazine.
